You can have a quick convo but if you say the wrong thing, your quick text can turn into insult or a lost opportunity. For example, if your first text to a woman you met last night is "what are you doing tonight?", she could think that you're just trying to have sex. So either be more specific with more characters/words or initiate a verbal conversation with asking if they're available to talk. Example 1: Hey... r u free for dinner around 7p 2nite? Example 2: It was nice meeting u last night. When is a good time to give u a call? Example 3: Hey [name]... hit me up when you can talk. Don't get me wrong, texting is great when you're busy... because you can respond on your own schedule. That includes answering questions or just talking when you feel like it without having to tell that person, "can i call you back later?", and potentially offend them or just lose brownie points bc you're not available when she wants to talk. In closing, just find out if she's / he's a text friendly person bc I've met a few ladies that would prefer a call vs. a text... bc it's viewed as impersonal. I just think I'm extremely charming and witty... and texting doesn't tickle their fancy. I could be wrong...
